Web Seminar examines RFID from the packager's perspective
"RFID-A Packager's Experience" - IoPP's fourth Web Seminar, co-produced/co-sponsored by Packaging World magazine - will be presented over the Internet by J. Michael Wallace, co-Chair of the Abbott Laboratories RFID Working Group. Wallace will address his experiences developing this technology and its impact on packaging. He will also present a roadmap for companies considering RFID adoption. "RFID-A Packager's Experience" is scheduled Tuesday, June 8, at 10:00 AM Central/11:00 AM Eastern time.

"Food & Beverage Packaging I and II" a hit with packagers, suppliers
IoPP's "Food & Beverage Packaging I and II" course attracted attendees representing companies from Kraft Foods, Target Corporation and ConAgra Foods to 3M Company, Multisorb, ITW Zip-Pak, Omron Electronics, Sonoco and others. The course, instructed by Aaron Brody, Ph.D., was held May 10-14 in Chicago, Illinois.

"Brand Identity & Package Design" examines branding in the marketplace
"Brand Identity & Package Design" event - hosted by the Design Alliance, a division of the Institute of International Research (IIR) - will provide information from top companies who are transforming and growing their corporate brands, products and identities through smart strategy and design. IoPP Book Store now carries Allied Development packaging studies
Allied Development researches, writes and publishes multi-client studies for the packaging field. Incisive studies range in topics from glass-coated films, retort pouches, flexible packaging, and oriented films. Allied has recently introduced a new online delivery service, which allows easy access to a specific study with a standard Internet browser. Web Seminar probed European pallet regulations and North American packagers
Steve Klinkefus, president of Compliance Packaging International Ltd. (CPI), presented IoPP's third Web Seminar - "EUR-Pallets." Seminar addressed how North American companies can comply with European laws by shipping on certified EUR-pallets. Representatives from companies such as Estee Lauder, Kraft Foods, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly, Bayer, and Fed Ex participated in the Web Seminar, which took place Wednesday, May 19. If you missed the "EUR-Pallets" Web Seminar, a CD-ROM of the presentation is available through the IoPP bookstore.

"Smart Packaging 2004" probes intelligent packaging systems
"Smart Packaging 2004" is designed to educate and inform packaging professionals in the latest intelligent and smart packaging systems, solutions and applications. The conference, scheduled for September 8-9, 2004, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois, is co-produced by IoPP and PISEC, with support from Packaging World and Labels and Labeling magazines. Two-day conference is expected to attract numerous delegates from the packaging and labeling sectors.

IoPP Member achieves highest CPP exam score on record
Congratulations to recently designated CPP Ibrahem Abunil of Berlex Laboratories. In March, 2004, Mr. Abunil achieved a score of 147 out of 150 on the multiple choice CPP exam.
