Members who volunteer their time to the Institute deserve recognition.  IoPP recognizes its members' contributions with the following awards:

National Awards

Member of the Year - Presented to a person who has made a particularly outstanding contribution to the Institute and to the profession during the previous year, or who has contributed in a major way to the progress and growth of the Institute and the profession on a continuing basis over the years.

Honorary Life Member - Conferred by the Board of Directors as recognition for special and outstanding contribution and service to the Institute.  Nominees shall be at least sixty (60) years of age; a member in good standing for an uninterrupted period of at least fifteen (15) years; and, if having served as an officer of the Institute, remained active in promoting the objectives and purposes of the Institute for a minimum of three (3) years following such service.

Fellow Member - Conferred by the Board of Directors as recognition for special and outstanding contributions and service to the field of packaging.  Such contributions and service should typify the knowledge, skills and conduct of the dedicated professional.  Each nominee shall by at least thirty-five (35) years of age, have been a member in good standing for an uninterrupted period of at least ten (10) years, and have a current designation of Professional.

Chapter/Committee Level Awards

Pi Alpha Kappa - The highest honor a member can achieve for service to a Chapter or Committee, recognizing outstanding active participation, service and longevity with the Chartered Unit.  Candidates must be a current member of IoPP, and have been active participants in IoPP for a minimum of four (4) years.  Members nominated for the Pi Alpha Kappa award may not also be nominated for a National Award in the same year.
